1993: Berlusconi Rising
1993 picks up where the first season of 1992 left off, tracking the collapse of a political system and the chaos that results. Out of the ashes will rise new right-wing parties, like the Forza Italia party founded by media magnate Silvio Berlusconi.
Notte keeps working for Berlusconi who is close to entering politics. Pastore joins a group of people with AIDS, but is determined to work on his case. Bosco becomes popular, but has to help a friend in need.
As the rise of Berlusconi looms, Politician Craxi is ready to call it quits; Pietro asks a friend for a favor; Leo returns home to visit his father; Veronica spends her birthday with a young admirer who seeks career advice. But, real danger awaits.
May 14th, 1993. After the shocking events of the last episode, an injured Veronica does whatever she has to do to fight being replaced by another actor; Leo returns home with his daughter to discover tragic news; the past won’t stay dead.
Leo is in prison awaiting trial for murder when he is offered a chance to get out… but it means helping Luigi Brancato. Veronica is furious when a magazine publishes graphic images from her sex tape; Pietro parties with Italy’s elite.
Giulia is blamed for Gardini’s suicide; Leo faces consequences for disobeying Brancato. Pietro learns his father is in the hospital; Veronica opens up about her prostitution for an interview. Luca has a passionate night which turns into a bad trip.
Leo returns home and faces the dire truth about his political career; Pietro confronts the Professor about his relationship with Bossi; As Veronica shares more sordid details about her sex life, she finds her interviewer is drawing closer to her.
Veronica fears she’s risking her career by publicly naming the men she’s slept with, so she’s forced to come up with a new plan; Leo meets with Communist officials and shares his honest opinions about the future of their political party.
