With a closet full of wing-tipped shoes, 79-year-old Bernard dances as much today as he did 50 years ago, when he was performing at venues like the Apollo. “I will always be dancing.”
Danuta, 73, leads a double life, both youthful. While serving Polish food at rock club Warsaw in Brooklyn and watching punk bands play, she daydreams about inline figure skating in sparkly costumes.
Though she’s 81, Edna lives to take care of seniors, some of whom are her age. But at the end of the day, it’s just her and her hula hoop, a therapeutic ritual and outlet for her abundant energy.
